We value transparency. A Good Faith Estimate** is provided ahead of time so there are no surprises.
Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Insurance
Dr. Shah is not in-network with any insurance.
We provide invoices (superbills) for out-of-network reimbursement.
Patients are responsible for verifying their own coverage and benefits, however we are here to help.
If you’ve struggled to find an in-network provider, you may be eligible for a Network Deficiency Exception. Learn more here.
** No Surprises Act: If you are uninsured or choosing not to seek reimbursement from your insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when you schedule care or upon request. If your bill is at least $400 more than your estimate, you may have the right to dispute the bill.Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance companies are profit-driven. Our practice is wellness-driven.
In our experience, insurance companies are placing increasing restrictions on the types and amount of treatments they cover, often prioritizing cost-savings over health promotion.
As an out-of-network provider, Dr. Shah is able to provide care grounded in medical evidence and best practices, rather than insurance company bottom lines.

Reimbursement rates vary widely. The best way to get accurate information is to contact your insurance company directly. See our Guide to Verifying Out-of-Network Benefits so you don’t miss anything important.
Upon request, we can provide superbills - invoices specifically formatted for easy submission to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.
Note: If you had difficulty finding a psychiatrist through your insurance, you may be eligible for a Network Deficiency Exception, which could significantly decrease your out-of-pockets costs.
